The Vande Bharat high-speed train will soon be replaced by a whole new model with far more up-to-date amenities, according to Indian Railways.

On Vande Bharat 2, passengers will enjoy the nicest and most up-to-date amenities.

The Vande Bharat 2 vehicle will have more sophisticated and enhanced features like 0 to 100 Kmph acceleration in just 52 seconds, a top speed of 180 Kmph, lighter weight of 392 tonnes rather than 430 tonnes, and WI-FI content on demand.

In addition, the 32-inch LCD TVs on the new Vande Bharat will be larger than those on the previous model, which were 24 inches. Travel will be more enjoyable with ACs that use 15% less energy and traction motor cooling that uses clean, dust-free air.

The newer train reached 160 kmph in 130 seconds compared to the older one’s 146 seconds.

The side recliner seat feature, which is now only available to Executive Class customers, will now be available to all classes.

The new Vande Bharat Express design uses a photo-catalytic ultraviolet air filtration system in the roof-mounted Roof Mounted Package Unit (RMPU) to purify the air.

The new train will have greater comfort features for the passengers. Instead of 430 tonnes, it will weigh 290 tonnes and include a three-hour battery backup. The comfort of the ride is gauged by the ride index, which has been increased to 3.2.

According to recommendations from the Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh, this system is created and set up at both ends of the RMPU to filter and clean the air and get rid of any contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that may enter through return air and fresh air.

By August 2023, the railroads hope to have built 75 of these trains.
