Pyar Ka Punchnama fame Sonnalli Seygall recently shared a reel on her Instagram that included healthy snacks one can eat without any guilt. A fitness freak herself, Sonnalli has often spoken about the importance of healthy living and mindfulness.

Healthy snacking is a concept that has been alien to us for generations. Whenever we think about snacks, most things that come to mind are processed food that’s full of trans fat. In times of growing lifestyle diseases, it has become our responsibility to keep a check on our food intake and refrain from unhealthy eating practices. Snacking is an essential part of a balanced diet and plays a crucial role in maintaining good health. It provides us with important nutrients that may be missing from our main meals, keeps us energized throughout the day, and helps prevent overeating during mealtimes.

The list of things Sonnalli recommended in the reel included Makhana, vegetable soup with gluten-free bread, black coffee with coconut oil, coconut water, salad, naturally sweetened homemade cakes, and ginger lemon honey tea. The actress also mentioned a few snacks in her caption including nuts and seeds, chickpea  and peanuts, fruits and nut milk smoothies. Fruits and vegetables used in salads are essentially packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support overall health and well-being. On the other hand, nuts and seeds are an excellent source of healthy fats and protein which are essential for muscle growth and repair. They can also help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

When it comes to beverages, we make it a point to find the most addictive ones to add to our routine. Moreover, there’s a common misconception that fruit juices are healthy for the body. Studies have suggested that artificially sweetened fruit juices aren’t too far behind aerated drinks when it comes to harmful effects. Therefore, adding healthy beverages like herbal teas, coconut water, and nut milk smoothies is crucial to a fruitful diet.

Dr. Ridhima Khamesra, Founder of Diet Solutions, also gave her thoughts on the subject and discussed the role of snacking in relation to obesity and unhealthy eating habits. She acknowledged that snacking is often viewed negatively and considered a contributing factor to these issues. However, she noted that if approached thoughtfully, snacking can actually be beneficial by alleviating hunger, stabilizing blood sugar levels, and providing a sense of satiety between meals without causing weight gain.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is of utmost importance for a person’s physical and emotional well-being. Apart from healthy snacking, and maintaining a balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle also includes regular physical activity, stress management, and adequate sleep. Adopting these habits can help prevent chronic illnesses, improve mental health, and increase energy levels.
