Accenture has initiated an adoption-assistance program to support its employees.

Accenture in India has launched an Adoption Assistance Program for employees embarking on the journey of adopting a child. This program provides financial support for adoption-related expenses, with each employee eligible to avail this benefit for up to two instances of adoption. The initiative reinforces Accenture’s commitment to supporting its employees who are parents or aspiring parents.

Lakshmi C, Managing Director and Lead – Human Resources at Accenture in India, stated, “At Accenture, we have a rich tradition of adopting progressive people policies and benefits. Our Adoption Assistance program builds on our robust initiatives that enable our people in India at various stages of their parenting journeys, and we remain committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all.”

In addition to the Adoption Assistance Program, Accenture in India offers industry-leading parental leave options, medical insurance support, access to childcare facilities, and employee communities and resource groups. These include:

  • Parental Leave Options: Accenture was among the first companies in India to equate adoption and surrogacy leave to maternity leave practices in 2016. In 2021, it introduced inclusive, gender-neutral parental leave options to support childbirth, surrogacy, and adoption.
  • Medical Insurance: Accenture’s corporate medical insurance program in India covers maternity, fertility, and surrogacy treatment for employees and their spouse or LGBTIQ+ partner.
  • Childcare Facilities: Employees have access to various childcare centers and creches across locations.
  • Employee Communities and Resource Groups: The ‘Parents at Work’ employee resource group allows parents to share experiences, find solutions to challenges, and support each other. Niche groups support diverse parenting journeys, such as single parents and caregivers of children with special needs.
  • Access to Expert Advice: Accenture partners with external experts to provide guidance on effective parenting styles, children’s mental well-being, sex education, and caring for children with special needs.
  • Caring for the Caregiver: The ‘Thriving Caregivers Program’ offers resources to parents and caregivers focused on improving their holistic well-being.
