An actor from Creed III, Jonathan Majors, was detained on accusations of harassment.
Jonathan Majors, the actor from Creed III, was taken into custody on suspicion of strangling, assault, and harassment.
The New York Police Department reported that on Saturday, Mr. Majors, who stars in the recently released movie with Michael B. Jordan, got into a domestic argument with a 30-year-old woman. Police added, “The victim reported to officers that she was abused.” For a short while, Mr. Majors was detained. His lawyer refuted all accusations of impropriety.
The NYPD reported that they were contacted at 11:14 a.m. local time following a 911 call from an apartment in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
The woman was brought to the hospital with slight neck and head injuries, they added.
An NYPD spokeswoman told the Associated Press news agency that he was freed from custody by Saturday night.
In a statement, Mr. Majors’ attorney claimed that his client was “totally innocent” and that the actor was the victim of a fight involving a person he knew.
Priya Chaudhry, the lawyer for Jonathan, stated, “In hopes that the charges would be withdrawn right away, we are compiling information fast and delivering it to the district solicitor.”
“Video tape from the car where the incident occurred, eyewitness accounts from the driver and others who witnessed the incident, and—most importantly—two official statements from the woman retracting these accusations are all included in the evidence.” “All the evidence establishes that Mr. Majors is 100 percent innocent and did not in any way assault her.”
Following his breakthrough performance in the 2019 film “The Last Black Man” in San Francisco, his career took off. He later starred in the Netflix western “The Harder They Fall” and the Marvel Comics movies “Ant-Man” and “The Wasp: Quantumania.”
In the boxing movie Creed III, which came out earlier this month, Mr. Majors portrays Jordan’s rival.
