Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, two of Bollywood’s brightest stars, are preparing to marry in what is expected to be one of the country’s biggest weddings.

The celebrations have made headlines in India, with many celebrities attending the ceremonies on Thursday.

The couple’s names are trending on Twitter, and many are wishing them well on social media.

With millions of followers throughout the world, the actors are among the most well-known faces in Bollywood.

Kapoor’s mother, Neetu Singh, a well-known Bollywood actress, confirmed the wedding on Wednesday. It is expected to take place in Kapoor’s family home, a magnificent villa tucked away in a posh Mumbai neighbourhood.

Brahmastra, Kapoor and Bhatt’s debut collaboration, will hit theatres later this year.

Their co-star in the film, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, rushed to Instagram to wish them “all the love, luck, and light as they prepare to go on a very unique trip in the coming days.”

Ayan Mukerji, the director of Brahmastra and a close friend of the couple, wished them all the luck for the “holy journey they are about to embark on.”

In an Instagram post, he said, “Wishing that the best of energies and all the blessings, all the joy and all the purity, surround them as they approach a magnificent new chapter of life, together forever.”

On Twitter, filmmaker Karan Johar also congratulated the pair.

Fans have been swarming to their homes to catch sight of the stars as a result, and tight security was posted outside Kapoor’s mansion on Wednesday.

In the days leading up to the wedding, social media has been buzzing with rumours about what the celebrities will wear and who will be in attendance. However, the pair are said to have chosen to keep the celebration small, spending it with close friends and family, which includes some of Bollywood’s greatest names.

On Wednesday, Kapoor’s cousins, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor, as well as a few others, attended their mehndi, or henna ceremony.
