China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi advocates for global peace
During an extensive press conference, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China’s commitment to promoting global peace and stability amidst complex international dynamics. Wang’s remarks were delivered during China’s prominent annual political gathering, offering valuable insights into the government’s upcoming agenda.
The “Two Sessions,” concurrent meetings of China’s parliament and political consultative body, provide a unique glimpse into the Communist Party-led government’s strategic priorities for the coming year. Wang defended China’s partnership with Russia, highlighting a new approach to major power relations and rejecting comparisons to the Cold War era. Despite criticism from Western powers, Wang rejected the European Union’s portrayal of China as a rival, particularly in the technology and energy sectors.
