Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss Universe 2021

Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe 2021, bringing the crown back to India two decades after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000.
Miss Universe 2021, a 21-year-old from Chandigarh, has made the entire country proud by winning the title in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz won after defeating difficult challenges from contenders from Paraguay and South Africa.
Harnaaz is devoted to her family. She had video phoned her family before the event and posted a screenshot on her Instagram account, referring to them as her “strength.” She is the only female in the Sandhu clan, which consists of 17 boys. Her family is basically from Kohali village Batala in Gurdaspur and currently residing in Mittal Apartments in Shivalik City on Kharar Landran road in Sector 125.
Her family consists of three members: her father, PS Sandhu, her mother, Ravinder Kaur Sandhu, who is extremely proud of her daughter, and a brother, Harnoor Sandhu, who is a musician who collaborates with young artists on Punjabi songs.
Harnaaz stated in her Miss Universe delegate profile that her mother had broken free from patriarchy and become a successful doctor to lead her family. Harnaaz was inspired to promote women’s issues and help in women’s empowerment as a result of this.
Harnaaz completed her studies at Chandigarh. She went to Shivalik Public School in Chandigarh for her school studies and then she went to Post Graduate Government College for Girls. She comes from a traditional Punjabi family and takes her customs extremely seriously.
As soon as her name was announced as the winner, Harnaaz burst into tears of excitement. She may also be seen clasping her hands in thanksgiving. Andrea Meza of Mexico then handed over the throne to the next heir.
India has previously won the prestigious Miss Universe title twice. Sushmita Sen was the first Indian to win the championship in 1994, and Lara Dutta did so in 2000. Harnaaz, 21, has now entered the ranks of these outstanding ladies.
