Indian Celebrities that passed away in 2020
2020 has been the year of adversities. Till we reach the end of the year many of us have lost a lot. Especially for Bollywood this year was a nightmare, it lost many precious gems. Many veteran and legendry actors and some budding stars died this year including:
Irrfan Khan
The demise of Irfan Khan left everyone heartbroken. The Legendary actor breath his last on April 29 in Mumbai. He was suffering from ill health for a very long time and before his demise, he was admitted to hospital because of a colon infection. In 2018 Irfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor. He died three days after the death of his mother in Jaipur. Irfan has given unforgettable performances in movies and with his brilliant acting skills, he had stolen everyone’s heart. His demise was a painful experience for everyone.
Rishi Kapoor
Rishi Kapoor was the third generation actor of the Kapoor family and a mesmerizing actor. He died on April 30 at the age of 67 after two year battle with leukemia. The actor has returned from the US last year after a year of treatment but his health was deteriorating with each passing day. He has acted in around 90 films and even won National awards for Mera Naam Joker (1970) which was his debut movie as a child artist.
Mohit Baghel
Mohit Baghel who appeared in Salman’s film Ready as Amar Chaudhary and in Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s Jabariya Jodi was very passionate about acting but sadly the actor died at the age of 28. The actor died of cancer on May 23. He has started his career as a child artist from various comedy shows.
Wajid Khan
Wajid Khan, of composer duo Sajid-Wajid, died due to cardiac arrest. He breathed his last on 1 June at the age of 42. The Sajid Wajid duo has given many hits especially their music in Salman’s movie is very much liked.
Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide in his house on June 14. The death of the 34-year-old actor sparks debates and controversies across the notion. Police obtained no suicide note and now CBI is investigating his case. The whole nation mourns his death. The actor rose to fame with the TV serial “Pavitra Rishta” and debut in Bollywood through “Kai Po Che.”
Saroj Khan
Veteran Bollywood choreographer and 3 three times National Award winner died on 3 July at the age of 31. The legendary choreographer was fondly known as masterji. She was on dialysis after suffering from a kidney condition. Her collaboration with Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit was very much loved by the audience and this led her to fame.
Jagdeep
Veteran actor and comedian who was loved for his comic timing passed aways at the age of 81 on 9 July. Jagdeep has appeared in 400 films and his character of Soorma Bhopali. He has starred in many blockbuster movies and his career span over decades.
SP Balasubrahmanyam
Legendary playback singer and six-time National Award-winner SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last on September 25 in Chennai at the age of 74. His health was deteriorating for a long time. He had control over 16 languages and the versatile singer had recorded more than 40,000 songs.
Asif Basra
Asif Basra died by suicide on November 12 in a private complex in the northern hilly city of Dharamshala. The versatile Bollywood actor died at the age of 53. The reason behind his death is still unknown and Police is investigating this matter.
