Priyanka Chopra explains why she discarded the surname ‘Jonas’ from her Instagram bio
Priyanka Chopra has deleted her social media accounts with the surname Jonas. After her wedding to Nick Jonas in 2018, the actor changed her name on Instagram. People wondered about the state of Priyanka Chopra’s marriage to American musician Nick Jonas when she eliminated Jonas from her Instagram and Twitter names. Madhu Chopra, Priyanka’s mother, had dismissed the rumours at the time and advised people to abstain from creating false accusations. However, until recently, the Matrix Resurrections star had been deafeningly silent on the subject. She’s now urging her followers to “just chill” since “it’s just social media.”
In a recent interview with The Times of India, PeeCee said that she eliminated Jonas from her social media identities solely to retain the same identity on Twitter and Instagram. She found it amusing how people make everything into such a big deal.
The Matrix Resurrections, Priyanka’s flick, is currently in theatres. She takes up the character of Sati in the film. In 2003, the character first appeared like a youngster in The Matrix Revolutions. Keanu Reeves plays Neo, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Morpheus, Carrie-Anne Moss plays Trinity, and Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jada Pinkett Smith play supporting roles in The Matrix Resurrections.
In a recent interview with Brit Asia, the actress was asked how her father would have reacted if he had been alive when she was cast in such a popular sci-fi franchise. Priyanka mentioned that her father is her biggest supporter and that everything in her life is due to him. “He would have been proud,” she said.
Priyanka’s mother, Madhu, said on Monday that she is proud of her daughter and that she deserves all of her achievements. “Celebrating the devotion you’ve shown on the way to this achievement,” Madhu said besides a photo of herself with Priyanka from the Matrix 4 premiere. You’ve worked hard for what you’ve achieved. Best wishes and heartfelt congratulations on the release of Matrix and all your future endeavours.
