Indian minister who get infected with coronavirus
The deadly coronavirus has established an atmosphere of fear among everyone. Either big politician or common man the virus does not differentiate between anyone. Many such renowned faces in India contracted the deadly coronavirus and some of the star politicians who get infected with it are:
Amit Shah, Union Home Minister
Amit Shah, Union home minister, and a close aid to Prime minister Modi got infected with COVID-19 in August 2020. The 55-year-old tested COVID-19 positive and was initially admitted to Medanta hospital in Gurugram and was discharged but again he got admitted to AIIMS, Delhi after the complained of “uneasiness” and “breathing difficulties”
Trivendra Singh Rawat, Uttarakhand CM
Trivendra Singh Rawat tested positive for corona on 18th Dec 2020. Along with the Chief Minister, his wife and daughter have also contracted the virus. The minister has isolated himself but this is not the first time he has gone for self-isolation. Earlier, on August 26, his staff tested positive and he went into self-isolation.
B S Yediruppa, Karnataka CM
B S Yediruppa tested positive for coronavirus on 2nd August. After 7 days of hospitalization, the CM got discharged from Manipal Hospital. He thanked the medical staff for their care and the people of the state who wished for his speedy recovery.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways tested positive for COVID-19 on 16 September. The Union minister tested positive for coronavirus just after two days of attending the monsoon session of parliament.
Anil Vij, Haryana Health Minister
Anil Vij, the 55-year-old Health minister of Haryana tested positive for COVID-19 on 5 Dec. His COVID-19 reports created a buzz because he was administered a dose of Covaxin as part of the third phase of the trial of vaccine at a hospital in Ambala on November 20. Covaxin is COVID-19 developed by Bharat Biotech in association with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi
Manish Sisodia tested positive for COVID-19 on 14 September. He was initially at home isolation but was shifted to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Hospital (LNJP) after the decline in his blood platelet count.
On the next day, he also tested positive for Dengue and was shifted to Max hospital and administerated plasma therapy.
Pranab Mukherjee, Former president
Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi for surgery to remove a clot in his brain. Prior to the surgery, he tested positive for COVID-19.
Sadly, the 84-year-old politician passed away on 31 August due to a septic shock.
Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President
M Venkaiah Naidu tested positive for coronavirus on 29 September.
“The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is, however, asymptomatic and in good health,” the Secretariat tweeted.
Satyendar Jain, Delhi Health Minister
Satyendar Jain, AAP party leader, and Delhi Health Minister tested positive for COVID-19 on 17 June. The 55-year-old was tested for coronavirus after he developed a high fever.
His condition deteriorated in the hospital and was shifted to the intensive care unit of Max Hospital where the mister was administered the plasma therapy.
On 26 June he was discharged from the hospital after he tested negative for COVID-19.
Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradeg, Shiv Raj Chouhan tested positive for Covid-19 on 25 July.
He was admitted to the hospital for 11 days and got discharged after he tested negative.
