Delhi’s temperature yellow alert
Several locations in North India experienced temperatures below zero due to the recent cold wave. East Rajasthan, North-West Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi all saw minimum temperatures that were 1-3 degrees lower. In Fatehpur, Rajasthan, the lowest minimum temperature of -3.7°C was recorded.
Temperatures in Delhi-NCR have risen to 5 degrees Celsius in Noida and Ghaziabad and 6 degrees Celsius in Gurugram and Faridabad. There is a good chance of thick fog.
Since then, a yellow notice has been issued by Delhi’s meteorological service. Beginning tomorrow, Delhi will see a severe cold wave that lasts for three days.
The Delhi Meteorological Service has also issued a yellow alert for the following six days. The low temperature in Delhi on Tuesday could decrease by one degree Celsius, according to senior meteorologist Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather.
The lowest temperature will progressively rise from January 19 to 20, by three to five degrees Celsius, as a result of the current western disturbance.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the cold wave conditions over northwest India should begin to subside on January 19. Northwest India is expected to be affected by two additional western disturbances on January 18 and January 20.
The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that a cold wave would accompany two Western Disturbances that are predicted to impact Northwest India on January 18 and 20. Through the 18th, various parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi may experience mild to severe cold wave conditions. On the 19th, a few isolated sites in east Rajasthan may also experience these conditions.
A cold wave might hit areas of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh from January 17 to January 19. Many places may have a minimum temperature decrease of an extra 2 degrees Celsius on January 17 in the morning. It will then warm up by 4-6 degrees Celsius from January 19 to 21.
