Highly Anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer Revealed for December 5th
Rockstar Games has intensified the excitement surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) by announcing the release of its trailer on December 5th at 1400 GMT. Despite the undisclosed launch date for the actual game, the announcement has already garnered significant attention, with Rockstar’s X post accumulating 26 million views within two hours.
This announcement marks a momentous occasion, arriving a decade after the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5), the second best-selling video game globally with over 185 million copies sold, trailing only behind Minecraft. While rumours about GTA 6 have circulated for years, Rockstar Games officially confirmed the game’s production in February 2022.
Rockstar Games’ President, Sam Houser, highlighted the significance of the December trailer release, coinciding with the company’s 25th anniversary and adding to the anticipation surrounding the next installment in the iconic series. The extended wait for GTA 6 follows the launch of GTA IV in 2008 and the subsequent release of GTA V five years later, with two substantial single-player expansion packs in between.
In a separate collaboration, Rockstar has joined forces with Netflix, making popular titles like GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas available on the streaming platform’s gaming offering. Subscribers can access these beloved games on mobile devices starting December 14th.
While fans have endured a prolonged wait for the next main entry in the GTA series, the multiplayer version, GTA Online, has played a crucial role in sustaining Rockstar Games’ revenue. The multiplayer version continues to generate substantial profits, contributing to the enduring popularity and re-releases of GTA V on various gaming platforms over the years. The December trailer release for GTA 6 marks a significant moment for avid gamers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this iconic gaming series.
