Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture Minister said that the agitated farmers union who are protesting against the farm laws will understand the idea behind the laws and they will also understand that the laws will reform the agriculture sector and they will soon find a conclusion from their discussion.

“The government of India is committed to the welfare of farmers. We meet those who are supporting the laws and those opposing them. I am sure that farmer unions who are agitating will understand the idea behind agriculture laws and they will think about the welfare of farmers and actively arrive at a solution by a positive discussion,” said Tomar.

It’s been months since farmers are protesting and farmers have hinted to the government that with each passing day they will intensify their protest.

Farmers leader Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India has said that the ‘tractor march’ of farmers will be on 7 January.
Farmers Union has also said that if their demands will not be completed soon they will boycott Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies in National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Farmers from different states have been protesting on the Singhu border of Delhi since November 26, 2020.

The three laws that they are protesting against are-
Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020
Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance
Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020

Some BJP leaders from Punjab have also met PM Modi to discuss the problems of farm laws. After the meeting, they said, “PM Modi knows a lot… all will be resolved and something good will happen. I cannot disclose what transpired in the meeting but something good will happen… when something is being conceived there are fears that it might get a miscarriage.”
