Indian young boxers win 19 medals in the Vojvodina Golden Glove competition

The top five female boxers in the women’s division were Bhawna Sharma (48 kg), Devika Ghorpade (52 kg), Kunjarani Devi (60 kg), Ravina (63 kg), and Kirti (+81 kg), and each of the 12 competitors received a medal.

In the 40th Golden Glove of Vojvodina Youth Boxing Tournament, which concluded on Monday in Serbia, Indian young boxers finished with 19 podium finishes and ten gold medals, capping off a brilliant season.

All 12 boxers competing in the women’s division received a medal, with Bhawna Sharma (48 kg), Devika Ghorpade (52 kg), Kunjarani Devi (60 kg), Ravina (63 kg), and Kirti (+81 kg) taking the first three spots on the podium.

Kunjarani, Ravina, and Kirti all won their fights by unanimous decisions, but Bhawna and Devika prevailed 4-1 in the championship match.

After losing in the finals, Muskan (75 kg) and Pranjal Yadav (81 kg) received silver medals. Other Indian medalists in the women’s division included Kashish (50 kg), Neeru (54 kg), Aarya (57 kg), Priyanka (66 kg), and Lashu (70 kg), who all finished with bronze medals.

All five of the boxers competing in the final won, demonstrating the remarkable performance of the nation’s male boxers.

In the championship match, Vishwanath (48 kg), Ashish (54 kg), and Sahil (71 kg) all recorded commanding 5-0 victories over their respective opponents. On the other hand, Jadumani (51 kg) and Bharat Joon (92 kg) won gold medal matches by scores of 4-1.

Bronze was won by Nikhil (57 kg) and Deepak (75 kg).

For their intense performances, Jadumani was named the “Best Fighter of the Tournament,” and Ravina was named the “Best Boxer” in the young women’s division.

Top boxing nations like Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Ukraine competed in the competition.
