The court is being misguided by various said farmers’ unions
The Supreme court issued stayed on the implementation of all three controversial farm laws. The order was passed on a batch of petitions which challenges the constitutional validity of the three farm laws.
Farmers have been protesting against the laws and demanded the withdrawal of these laws, but the government was adamant about keeping the laws arguing that the farm laws are in favor of the legislation.
The court has formed a committee comprising experts to examine farm laws and understand the ground situation but the farmers’ unions said that they will join any court-ordered committee process.
The bench that ordered the formation of the committee was led by Chief Justice S A Bobde. The committee formed of experts includes HS Mann, Pramod Kumar Joshi, Ashok Gulati, and Anil Dhanwant.
“We cannot keep the farm laws’ abeyance for nothing. There must be some progress to resolve the issue over farm laws which we want to do through committee,” said CJI
All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee issued a statement, “It is clear that the Court is being misguided by various forces even in its constitution of a committee. These are people who are known for their support to the 3 Acts and have actively advocated for the same.”
The board urgent the farmers union to cooperate with them “We are forming a committee so that we have a clearer picture. We don’t want to hear arguments that farmers will not go to the committee”.
“This is not politics. There is a difference between politics and judiciary, and you will have to cooperate”, said the board to farmer unions.
