Online User Challenge Biden’s Assertion of Crossing Baltimore Bridge by Train

US President Joe Biden faced criticism from internet users after asserting that he has crossed Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge “many, many times” by either train or car. Biden made these remarks following a bridge collapse incident, during which he claimed familiarity with the bridge and Baltimore Harbor.

Critics questioned the accuracy of Biden’s statement and accused him of unnecessarily inserting himself into the narrative of the tragedy. Social media platforms were flooded with reactions ranging from scepticism to concerns about misinformation propagated by the president.

Several users pointed out the absence of train tracks on the Francis Scott Key Bridge, casting doubt on Biden’s claim of commuting over it by train. Radio host Alan Sanders and others echoed these sentiments, highlighting perceived inconsistencies in Biden’s statement and expressing concerns about his mental sharpness.

One user tweeted, “So Joe Biden, once again confused, asserts that he has travelled over the Francis Scott Key Bridge by train’many times,’ despite the fact that there are no train tracks on that bridge.” This sentiment reflected a broader scepticism among online commentators regarding the accuracy of Biden’s statement.

In response, White House spokesperson Robyn Patterson sought to clarify Biden’s statement, explaining that the President was referring to driving over the bridge during his 36-year Senate career commuting between Delaware and Washington, D.C.

This incident contributes to a pattern of Biden making inaccurate statements about his presence at significant national events, including claims related to the September 11 attacks and a bridge collapse in Pittsburgh. Such instances have prompted scrutiny and corrections in the past, raising concerns about Biden’s credibility regarding historical events.
