Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in “Anupamaa,” has joined the BJP, expressing her desire to follow the example set by PM Modi.
Renowned for her roles in popular serials such as “Anupamaa” and “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,” actor Rupali Ganguly officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. She made her entry into the party alongside senior leaders like Vinod Tawde and Anil Baluni, at an event where astrologer Ameya Joshi also joined the BJP.
Ganguly emphasized that the “mahayagna” of development had motivated her decision to align with the BJP. “I feel compelled to be a part of this… I seek your blessings and support to ensure that my endeavors are fruitful and beneficial,” she expressed after affiliating with the ruling party.
Ganguly disclosed her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing herself as one of his ardent admirers. “The BJP has been undertaking commendable work… I have always believed in contributing. I aspire to follow the path illuminated by PM Modi and serve the nation in any capacity,” she added.
During the event, Tawde took a swipe at the Opposition, particularly targeting the Congress. “We have a question for the Congress leadership, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. On one hand, your government is providing reservations to Muslims. On the other, you speak about ‘vote jihad’ in an election being observed globally. The opposition’s frustration is evident,” he remarked.
The prospect of Ganguly receiving a ticket for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, akin to fellow actors Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil, remains uncertain.
Ganguly’s decision to join the BJP follows a meeting with PM Modi in March of this year. Ganguly shared a video on her Instagram account, expressing her ecstatic “fan girl” moment. She captioned it: “A day I will cherish forever! It was the day my dream came true… meeting our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modiji. It was indeed a fan girl moment! For 14 years, I have longed for the opportunity, and finally, I got to share the stage with him on such a prestigious platform that he has created for the remarkable digital content creators, which will not only be highly coveted in the future but also an award that embodies Modiji’s vision of a digitally global India @mygovindia.”
