The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have had a strong start to the IPL 2022 season, winning three of their first four league matches to take third place in the points standings. The team is currently involved in a match versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Former Indian cricketer Lalchand Rajput examined RCB’s bowlers and their strengths in the batting department in this edition.

Lalchand believes RCB are on a winning streak and that this is what is propelling them forward in the tournament. He went on to say that Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is a highly intelligent bowler with the ability to consistently take wickets and that he is RCB’s trump card this season.

Hasaranga is an extremely intelligent bowler who is ranked number one in the ICC rankings. He has something exceptional in him, and he is astute and unafraid of being hit. When you watch him bowl, you’ll notice that he always attempts to buy wickets, which is a leg speciality. Spinner’s On Sky247.net’s “Not Just Cricket Show” on CricTracker, Lalchand said, “He is a trump card for the RCB team.”

The former Indian cricketer also spoke about the abilities of Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, who made his IPL comeback against Chennai Super Kings in Match 22 of IPL 2022.

Lalchand praised RCB’s in-form veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who is still undefeated in the tournament. Karthik, he believes, is the finest finisher at the moment and can return to the national squad if he maintains his current form.

“He was with the KKR squad in a previous couple of years and was struggling, and he didn’t know what he could do because he was the captain. However, in this version, RCB has assigned him a specific role. He is loving his job as a finisher, and if he maintains his current form, I believe he will be able to return to the Indian team. At the moment, he is without a doubt the best finisher,” Lalchand said.
