India won the very first Under-19 “Women’s T20 World Cup trophy” on January 29 by beating England by seven wickets in the championship match at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom because of their outstanding bowling ability and the contributions of Gongadi Trisha and Soumya Tiwari.

Rahul Dravid, the ‘head coach of India’, stated that the victory was a turning point for women’s cricket. “The Indian women’s Under-19 quad achieved a significant milestone today.”

Prithvi Shaw, the captain of the 2018 Under- 19 World Cup champion team, “I believe it’s a fantastic accomplishment. Shaw congratulated the women’s squad and appreciated their win.”

Shafali Verma, the captain of India, launched a stunning four on Hannah Baker’s delivery to begin their world cup-winning pursuit of a score of 69. When Baker then defeated Shafali for 15 off of 11, she significantly improved her team’s position in the game. When captain Grace Scrivens,  struck out dangerous hitter Shweta Sehrawat for 5 runs off of 6 balls, England’s bowlers made an effort to retake the game.

The next batter to come out to bat was Gongadi Trisha, a right-handed hitter. Trisha took the foundation role, while Soumya Tiwari played some aggressive roles. After 10 overs, India needed to score 21 runs in 60 balls to win. Then, Gongadi Trisha pounded Ellie Anderson for back-to-back fours.

Gongadi Trisha was bowled out by Alexa Stonehouse for 24 runs off 29 balls in the thirteenth over of the innings. The first Under19 “Women’s T20 World Cup” was won by Team India, headed by Soumya Tiwari, who also defeated England by seven wickets. Indian bowlers totally dominated the game against England in the summit match earlier after choosing to field first. India’s first wicket came from Titas Sadhu, who bowled England opener Liberty Heap out for a two-ball duck.

Playing some boundary shots, Niamh Fiona Holland and Grace Scrivens attempted to manage the stress. Holland was sent back to the pavilion, thus she was unable to spend much time on the pitch. England’s batters continued to lose wickets at regular intervals after Holland’s dismissal. With the new ball, India set the tone right away and struck the England Women Under-19 regularly until they were bowled out for 68. Each of Archana Devi, Parshavi Chopra, and Titus Sadik claimed two wickets. With 19 runs off 24 balls, Ryan Macdonald Gay led England in scoring.
